The Last Precious Glimpses

Sergio and Emma were the only grandchildren who saw their Lolo. Doroteo died in 1921 and Antonia two years later. During World War II, the third child Adok and Sergio Piansay were killed by Japanese guerillas. Ati was widowed early and later remarried to Eduardo Grijaldo, a native of Hinigaran and had her last two children with him. All five siblings are now resting peacefully with the Lord, our "last man standing" Lolo Anas, passing away in 2002.

The Clan

The family settled down and had peaceful lives in Ilog.
DELFIN married PAZ MONTINOLA from Bago City.
They bore the first grandson, SERGIO MONTINOLA LIM PIANSAY (b. 25 September 1918) and had 8 other offsprings.
TEOFILA married CHUA SUY, an immigrant from Amoy, China
They bore the first granddaughter, EMMA LIM PIANSAY (B. 15 September 1920) and had 4 other children.
CATALINA married MANUEL MORCILLA.
They had 7 children and settled in Hinigaran.
DOLORES married PRESCO LABRADOR.
They had 4 children and also settled in Hinigaran.
ANASTACIO married NOBLEZA GELLE.
They had 8 children and settled in Nabulao, Sipalay.

The Union

Doroteo won the heart of an Isio native, the lovely ANTONIA FUENTES from a clan of beauty and grace. They got married and settled in Ilog. The bore six offspring, TEOFILA ("Ati"), DELFIN (b. 1900), GERARDO ("Adok", b. 1905), CATALINA ("Taling, b. 1908), DOLORES ("Lolleng", b. 1912) and ANASTACIO ("Anas"). They were brought up industrious and humble.

The Beginning

A hundred years ago, an ambitious young man left his homeland in China to nowhere. Faced with uncertainty and rough seas ahead, fate landed him in the shores of Ilog, Negros Occidental, Philippines in the late 19th century. The brave young man was LIM-O-CO. His igenuity and perseverance earned him the sentiment of a prominent resident of Ilog who adopted him as his godson. He was later known as DOROTEO LIM PIANSAY as he also adopted his godfather's family name - PIANSAY.
